Icelandic’s synthpop-band no.1 Vök are back with their second album “In the dark”.
Shortly before the release we had the chance to ask them a few questions, what you can read here. Whilst the title would lead you in the direction, that this longplayer could be more dark than the debut album Figure, the opposite is what you can expect: More synths, more danceable songs, more melodies, more emotions.
The album starts with the banging title-track In the dark with that grooving 4-to-the-floor drums and a very pushing attitude.
Autopilot is a mid-tempo song that delivers so much warm synth sounds and instantly is one of our favorites
Night & Day is pure pop perfection. Vocals and sounds blend together seemlessly.
Spend the love has a really nice retro vibe in it. With swirling 80s synths and a super-funky bassline this is the song to dance to!
No Direction can be described as Slow-Club-Music, those claps are so great!
Erase you brings the album back on the pop track, very danceable too.
Vök have found their way with their unique sound – and yet In the dark sounds different that the successful debut album Figure. More uptempo songs and warm analogue synth lead sounds show another side of the Icelandic band. A fantastic album and already our favourite synth-album of the year!
