We are fans of Darling West since their fantastic song The Swetest Tune came out and several albums of the band followed that showed that Americana works very well coming from Norway. So they managed do gather a wide audience – with great live concerts.
Now their fifth album ‘Cosmos’ will be released an March, 24th this year on Jansen Records. ‘Still here’ is a song that is released before the album drops and it on one side typical Darling West with its calm sounds and acoustic guitars. And on the other side it is more pop and less country-esque than their previous songs. As always, ‘Still here’ is so perfect to listen to on a cold day in January with its warmth.
The video by Nikolai Grasaasen – and especially the choreography of the dance parts by Josephine Gracia look like fun and stressful at the same time :)
The band tells: “Being in a long-term relationship is not always easy, as you can tell from a lot of songs in any genre. This one explores a moment when you realize that you have to deal with something and not put it on hold any longer. Most of us have been in these situations. It can fall both ways, but you have to choose. Work on it or let it go. In the studio when Thomas hit us with this drum groove in the chorus we almost fell off our chairs. So surprising and fun to play along with.”
