Daði Freyr was planned to be Icelands entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020 with the quirky and so, so good ‘Thinking about things‘. Sadly the contest has been cancelled because he had a good chance of winning it.
Luckily he wanted to come back this year with the new song ’10 years’, a hommage to his wife. And again it is musically an absolute banger with the funky elements, the danceable groove and that silly dance. Icelanders – so good to see their humour again, it is always a pleasure.
Altough it looks very funny, the way of Daði and his band to represent Iceland is a long, which is shown a good documentary in Iceland.
And he is also doing a ‘Virtual Tour’ this year through Europe and the whole world. Here are the German dates, in which you can take part by clicking here.
25. April – Berlin 26. April – Hamburg 27. April – Köln 28. April – München
“I’m coming to your house but like a vampire, you have to invite me in. Please have me in your personal space playing music. I think you will like it, I know I will like it. I haven’t gotten the chance to tour yet so this is super exciting to me and I sincerely hope people will get as creative as possible with this. See you wherever you may be!” – Daði Freyr
