This year’s Eurovison entry from Sweden is by singer Cornelia Jakobs, who has won Melodifestivalen against strong competitors.
And let us put this way: This year we truly believe that Sweden has the winner-song again: ‘Hold me closer’ starts as a slow ballad and evolves in a more beat-driven mid-tempo disco-song with a fantastic melody. With great breaks and build-ups it gaves Cornelia the chance to show her raspy voice, which is a new thing for Sweden: In the last years they sent in often too polished tracks and singer, but this song is way more edgy – and that sticks to your head.
