Norwegian Alt-pop singer and songwriter Vårin Strand – who goes under her moniker Vaarin – returns with a new song called ‘Dark Matter’.
Her music is inspired by floating alt-pop by singers like Agnes Obel, Kate Bush, Björk or AURORA. And Vaarin already did support AURORA on a tour – and the beloved Bel Canto with Anneli Drecker.
‘Dark Matter’ is then indeed calm pop with an indie-vibe to it – we like the use of the Cello very much that gives it an almost folk-touch. It is written and produced by Vaarin together with Marcus A. Edvardsen (Anna Soleil, Zueva) and Bjarne Stensli (Astrid S, A-ha)
“I believe we all have moments in our lives where we lose track, hope and grip of happiness and reality. I dug deep for a long time and there it was – right behind my back.” Vaarin says.
Her second album will be released in May 2023.
