Danish singer Marie Fjeldsted who is releasing music with her moniker Penny Police, is releasing her new album ‘Be Lucky’ on September, 27th on Backseat.
She creates her own musical world with her slow, intimate and warm songs. Starting with ‘Mirror, Mirror‘, that is soundwise a reflection of good, hand-made music in Denmark, with long intrumental and spheric parts. Marie tops this with her voice, that is sometimes more a well integrated instrument because it matches the general mood.

‘There is more‘ with the choir is also in the mood of warm and calm sounds, very classical good songwriting.

‘You amaze me‘ and ‘Make it move‘ reminds us in some parts of close and intimate bedroom pop in the style of Alice Boman which shows the quality.

The title track ‘Be lucky‘ integrates massive string sounds and is pendling between louder and more calm sounds, a good contrast to the otherwise very soft album. ‘Sorrows‘ and ‘Take on a little Love‘ are perfect songs to listenening to when you have a cup of tea in your hands and look outside when it is raining outside.
If you are into calm and soulful folk-music this album will blow you away with it’s gorgeous melodies. Warm analogue instruments, choirs and pianos deliver a good base for the voice Marie. Let the autumn come!
