Danish-Icelandic sister duo EYJAA (Sara and Brynja) are back with their second single after their debut ‘Don’t Forget About Me‘ in February 2021 that gained attention on Danish radio P3 as it has been ‘Song of the week’ there.
About their background they say: “We’ve lived in multiple big cities round the World and speak 7 different languages, so when growing up, change was always just around the corner. But from a very early age music became something special between us – from kindergarten performances to music classes as transverse flute, viola and ukulele to studying music and dancing together. Music is our space – a place of harmony.”
‘The Wrecking Crew’ is a floating folk-pop-song that gives a warm feeling with the harmony-singing of the two vocalists and a a chorus that is catchy and relaxed at the same time. Elements of Country are there in it too, what is a big thing in the northern countries at the moment. The song is written by Lukas Nathanson and Maya Nalani and is out on Capitol Records Denmark.
“Going through life we all experience challenges that we tend to overthink or simply misunderstand within ourselves. ‘The Wrecking Crew’ is about how you are never alone with your thoughts. Really, it can be just as beautiful to be sad as it can to be happy. It’s just human emotions, and they are not unknown to any of us.” , EYJAA tell about the song.
